Fighting the Sick

I’ve been fighting getting sick for days now – I’m half winning and half losing. Everyone at the theatre has been calling out sick.
On top of that I haven’t been eating correctly and have put on a couple of pounds. I’m generally uncomfortable, but I am excited about the New Year. I am kicking it off with a clothing swap tonight. My last of the year. I am so excited -It’s seemed like forever since I had one, although it’s only been about a month and a half.

A lot of Crown today. I’ve been wearing a lot of Brown and blue together. Crazy because in the beginning of the year I had no brown in my wardrobe.
I think along with my regular “resolutions” – I am going to make Fashion Resolutions.
I’m not sure what’s going to be on there but any excuse to make a list and I’m there!

No one was home to take my picture – and I was running late so I couldn’t set up my tripod. Lame I know but whatever. I love the French Connection shirt with the puffy sleeves and the little collar. I was feeling pretty crappy that day so I thought I would dress up a little.

Another day of feeling crappy, so another day of trying to look cute. I’m not very good at walking in heels so I practice whenever I can.

Most of my clothes this week came from Salvation Army.
The Oatmeal Banana Republic Sweater in this picture was from the last Warehouse I went to. I got very little but I got a couple of quality things. Like this sweater, a French Connection striped cardigan, and a vintage plaid dress.

Gross!

I’m starting a new blog – well a revolution really, to bring back proper Broadway Theatre etiquette. My fellow ushers and i were talking about it today before the show. The line has got to be drawn somewhere. Needless to say the Orchestra looked like a tornado had ripped through it by the end of the show. My personal pet peeve? Junior Mints ground in to the carpet.

Today I felt like not dressing like a bum. I often feel like my cuter outfits are wasted when I go to work because I change into this horrible oversize bellhop jacket (It’s the HILTON Theatre) and black pants that are too big for me. Today I decided I would look cute for myself. I did some shopping in the morning (my secret Santa gift) and had brunch at Westway Diner – I now know what a firtatta is – and I LOVE it!

I ripped my black tights as soon as I put them on. That’s why I pay $1.99 per pair – or maybe that’s why they rip so easily? In any case life goes on.

I wear this purple dress all the time. I think it was the best $10 I’ve ever spent at Beacon’s Closet. Here I am wearing it with and H&M cropped shirt I got at a freemarket and gray over the knee socks. The boots are from EBay and need to be repaired.

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I fully plan to do some closet cleaning. I am hosting a clothing swap on Sunday and need to clean out to get ready for the new.

Hope everyone has a Happy Holidays!

This picture is old, but it got lost in the shuffle. I know it was from the Wednesday before my party – So December 6 maybe? I just remember we all went out for Thai food between shows- I’ve Had those Arm Warmers since I was 17 – I got them at Webers for 99 cents – I have another pair some place also.

You can’t go wrong with a Rainbow Brite shirt that says “Rollin with my Homies”
Notice how I am on my Sidekick (chatting away on AIM) and have a computer keyboard in my lap – SICK!
I am in my sisters room.

I love Salvation Army – I am in the zone here.

A Rainy day last week. I love my big Ghetto Heart earrings. I got them from H&M.

There were 2 holiday parties at work this week. This is the outfit I wore to the second one on Tuesday. The top cost me $2.99 at Charlotte Russe and I wore it with black leggings and black boots. I went in to the store ready to pay *GASP* FULL price for something but when the cashier told me it was $2.99 I actually said out loud “HOW MUCH??” – I am just drawn to the cheap I guess. That’s my friend Danielle in the first picture. We are in the bathroom at the Hilton theatre.

This is before I went to the first party at a Karaoke lounge downtown. I wore black skinny jeans and BCBG booties. Check out my big heart bracelet – i think it was the most expensive thing I was wearing. It was a pretty awesome night.

Okay I’m Out of Hangers

I love this Armani Exchange Orange turtleneck it cost me -$2.50 at Salvo. I wound up wearing boots and not the Steve Madden Kitten heels shown in this picture.

This was my outfit for the party we had on Saturday.
That red corset top was $12 at Salvation Army – a little pricey but it still had the $118 price tags attatched!

I have been picking up extra shifts at work, so have not had time to take pictures of my outfits – don’t worry they have not been that exciting – but never fear, there are 2 holiday parties at work next week and I will be getting dressed up for both.

OMGWTF@!@!! FREEEZING

My living room is a mess (Look at that lovely Trash in the second picture)so I chose to take my pictures on this awesome ladder that goes to a roof I’m not allowed on.
I thought that I was having lunch with my mom so I got dressed up a little bit – not realizing it was like 2 degrees outside. Needless to say I went home in my ushering pants and not this little ensemble.

I am over the skirt already and it is going to my swap pile but I got it at Salvation Army for like $2.00 Sweater is also from Salvo. Tights were $1.99 at the Gap and Socks were $4 somewhere.
Boots = EBay.

If it’s supposed to snow bad tomorrow so that may put a crimp in my early morning Salvation Army Excursion – but knowing me, probably not.

Thursday November 29th

I blocked out my face on this picture because I looked scary,
But I still liked my outfit.
I got my American Apparel baby rib mini dress (yes I looked at the website)at last months warehouse sale and I am wearing it with a $3 t-shirt and $5 leggings. I have a sweater that was free after a random stoop sale and my wool warehouse sale coat.
Boots are vintage from EBay

I am holding my faux Louis Vuitton that I spilled diet coke in before I managed to get to work.

Rock!
